Trinity’s name comes from our belief that God is one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The will of God

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that God’s will is revealed in the Old and New Testaments. The Ten Commandments are a gift from God for the good of our communities and individual well being, so that we may love the Lord our God with all our heart and mind, and love one another as ourselves. On the one hand, God’s Law is intended to maintain safety and justice. But the Law also reveals our sins so that we turn to God, our source of life, for mercy, forgiveness and healing.

The reality of this world and the Good News

The reality is that we live in a broken and sinful world, and like bad news it’s everywhere. We need help. If you’ve tried to overcome something alone, then you know it’s an overwhelming task. Thank God for the Good News! The unconditional love of God sent the Son, Jesus Christ, into our troubled world to set us free from the bonds of guilt, sin, fear, doubt, addiction, death and a whole host of things that would rob us of peace, joy, hope, self-control, and genuine love for others.

Through faith in Christ we have this incredible love and presence of God everyday to forgive us, help us, and renew us. Christ has made us a new creation, today and everyday. We have hope to face the difficult journey of this life, and hope for the life to come in the resurrection. For this reason we thank, praise, and serve God everyday.

At the center of Trinity’s faith and life is our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in whose name we are gathered in worship, forgiven, inspired, nourished, and sent to tell the Good News of Jesus Christ to a world in need of healing and wholeness.

Baptism and Holy Communion

We believe that baptism is not something we do for God; rather, baptism is something God does for us, because we are born sinful and can do nothing to save ourselves. By the Holy Spirit—together with water and God’s word—we are reborn children of God and made a new creation in Christ and inheritors of eternal life. The Lord forgives our sins and gives us the gift of God’s constant presence through the Holy Spirit. We are also made members of the Church, which is the body of Christ, so that as we live and worship with God’s people, we grow in our faith, love, and obedience to the will of God.

Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is another means by which Christ comes to us, forgives us and nourishes our faith. We believe in the true presence of Christ in Holy Communion, which means that Jesus comes in, with, and under the bread and wine. When one receives the Body and Blood of Christ, one hears those life-giving words, “Given and shed for you.”

The bottom line

The unconditional love of God our Father… the incredible love of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, as shown on the Cross… and the steadfast love of the Holy Spirit… this love gives us:

  • the strength and hope to face our challenges, knowing that we are not alone
  • peace and gladness in our hearts and love for one another
  • inspiration in our worship
  • every reason to thank and serve the Lord with joy

Come, join the folks at Trinity and share in this Good News. This is God’s Church. You have a place here.
